2024 Limited - how to install OEM mud flaps

Hello 4Runner community!

We just purchased the 2024 limited. I'm trying to install the OEM mud flaps but the screw holes on the flaps don't seem to align with the holes in the wheel well. I've checked with the parts department via vin # and they've confirmed it's the correct part.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

Welcome. They should fit, as long as they’re for a limited and not the other trims.

 

Welcome. I am interested to know what your resolution was. I had ordered an OEM set from Amazon that would not fit. I sent them back and have not tried further.

I'm working on it today and will post pictures when I'm done. I double checked with the parts department at my local Toyota dealer and they confirmed the oem mud flaps require that I drill a few additional holes into the plastic fender. I have the printed instructions directly from Toyota which also state the same. Kind of silly given there are exiting holes not being utilized. Stay tuned.

 

You'd think OEM mud flaps would be no-drill, since like you said, there is existing hardware than can be used. These are the ones I got off Amazon, no-drill, fit perfectly. My '23 Limited does not have running boards or fender flares, so this is the kit I used:

UPDATE: I was able to get the OEM mud flaps installed in about 45 mins (I worked slowly and deliberately).

Some helpful hints:
1. Be very careful about positioning the spring clips that are screwed into. If you're off center even just a little bit, the screws will not catch or will go in at an angle which isn't good.
2. Have the correct tools. You'll need an angle screw driver for the back wheels as you can't turn them like the front wheels (see picture).
3. You'll end up removing and re-attaching a small, existing flap on top of the new mud flap (only on the front flaps. this is really silly, come on Toyota!). Honestly, this should just be one part.

Overall, I'm happy with the mud flaps; however, in the future I'd go with a simpler after-market product which didn't require me to drill new holes into the plastic panel (as mentioned by Bronzestar).

I need to fit with running boards, so will look at that brand.

BTW, love your tires, do you get any rubbing? How far off is your speedo?

Hello,
New to the site, sorta having issues figuring out how to ask someone a question. I see sanjosekimchi has the same mud flaps as I have. My question is the bottom screw. My truck looks like it has a rivet there. Does that get removed or is there hardware that screws to the center of it. The direction don’t mention anything about a rivet. It just stated to add a
Screw in that area. So I am a little confused. The rear mud flaps were a breeze to install. Any info is appreciated. Thanks everyone.

You might just need to punch a new hole. It's only rubberized plastic.

I will take another look. It’s going to have to wait now since I had shoulder surgery on Thursday. I was trying to get them installed before that….but the fronts were a little bit more tricky. I appreciate any info.
