When do you think Toyota will stop manufacturing the 2024 4Runner? Or have they already stopped making it and are now getting ready to make the 2025. My buddy at work is waiting to get a 2024 hoping to get it way below MSRP but I told him not to wait too long or they'll be gone.

In what state? Which trim level? Different regions have different incentives and supplies.

I would just buy it at MSRP. If sentiment for the 2025 becomes negative, the 2024 models may only go up in price as the end of production nears. Since it will hold its value well, you can enjoy it for a few years until most bugs are worked out on the 6th gen around 2028 then trade up if you like.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
    They'll probably stop at/around Oct/Nov of 2024. You have at least 6 months to get a brand-spankin'-new 2024.

Ditto what Borracho Loco said - your buddy's got a bit of time to grab a 24'. But... if he's choosy about colors and trim/package, etc., I'd recommend not waiting a whole lot longer to start looking for exactly what he wants and when he finds it, pull the trigger. If he's looking for something really hard to find (ie TRD Pro in special color, etc.), I'd get busy on that pretty quick. Like tomorrow.

He'd probably get the most luck throwing a wide net out to as many dealers as he can.

I got fed up and bought used though so it'll depend on allocations, what he wants, how far he's willing to travel, dealer shenanigans, etc.

If your buddy’s allocation has not been accepted by the end of May, first week of June, it will likely not go through. They will continue production until the final allocation unit has been completed. They will not extend their order/allocation deadlines past the cutoff.

Toyota usually begins production in the second week of June for the following MY. Delivery is sometime between August and October for the first run of units.

Find one of these high-volume dealers with 5th gens sitting on the lot with $6k discounts...

This is what happens when these dealers refuse to sell to out-of-state customers. This specific dealer in Oregon would not sell me a 4Runner when I was looking for one. They had a few on the lot in 2022.

Gladstone was only offering about $2k off when I tried to buy one of theirs recently. I would be shocked to see a TRD ORP anywhere near $6k off - they are still selling around here.
