    Howdy,
I noticed these bolts sticking out from inside the rear wheel wells. It looks like a plastic tap was covering them at one point, but they broke off.
Same thing on each side. I'm a new T4R owner so forgive me if I'm really green lol.
Can anyone tell me if they are supposed to be that way, and what their purpose is?

    TIA

I believe that one is a seatbelt mount bolt. All of us have a few bolts sticking through like that. General consensus seems to be it's a non-issue, but you can spray coat it with something if you want.

A shot of undercoating spray covered mine. I intend to keep an eye on it and redo as necessary.

That's sloppy. Hard to believe that's the planned finished appearance.

    Welcome to the forum!

I cleaned the area and used liquid electrical tape. There are several ways to protect it if you want, Pick one and run with it.

Yep we all have them. Sloppy. I just put fluid film on them once per year.

You will also note in those wheel wells a slit or small hole which is for sunroof drain if equipped. Do not seal it it’s supposed to be there

How did you find out what the slits are for? I can see what appears to be a hose in both, but it doesn’t look like it drains from the slit. TIA

Didn’t mean to highjack the thread in last post, seems multiple small issues in same area. I used black RTV on the bolts when it was new and clean.

I had sent pics to my dealer to the service manager and he contacted someone at toyota and called me and said do not block them. He confirmed as others suspected on a thread here a year or two ago that these are drains for the sunroof.

Wish I the rear garnish issue had some type of long term resolution.

@barrios1096 OP if you’re new to 4R also check out the sticky regarding plastic badge scratching paint at top of the 5th Gen forum. This is another nusance issue to be on the look out for during first year or two and catch early before rust. Although I don’t think any of us know for certain what a long term fix is. Not to highjack thread just want to educate
