Wheel compatibility

Toyota Hilux Surf 16X7 JJ rims - are these known to be compatible with the tundra brake upgrade some are doing?

 

I believe those are the only wheels that rub. OE wheels that is.

You can use the S13WE calipers and rotors with your stock wheels which are 199mm. They won't rub, don't require trimming the backplate and while not quite as robust as the larger, still give more stopping power, less heat buildup, and are much stronger rotors than stock.
You need: 2ea 43512-0C011 discs (rotors), 1ea 47730-0C011 RH caliper 199mm, 1ea 47750-0C011 LH caliper 199mm, 1ea 04465-0C012 pad kit 199mm, 1ea 04945-04012 shim kit 199mm. You may want to renew the flex hoses at the same time. Hope this helps

 

Oh ok - thanks for the info. What Toyota is that originally for those parts ?

 

They're from a Tundra but not the 231mm heavy duty. The 199mm pads are bigger and the 199mm rotors are more robust than stock. You'll REALLY notice a difference! The 199mm are cheaper and a bit easier to install. Google 3rd generation 4runner brake upgrade for more info and videos than you have time to watch. You can also get tips/videos on how to clean up your wheels too.
